Black Bars after trying to short pins on 1.0a
#1
So I've followed the youtube tutorials on flashing my 1.0a with Repetier and have had some trouble. Black bars on the LCD and nothing happening when I try to upload the Repetier firmware. I've got the newer board on the 1.0a, but everyone else seems to have had no issue reflashing it, so I'm sure I've missed something. Over the weekend, I've reset the printer a few times and tried to reload Repetier from bot a Mac and a PC (thinking that the Repetier GitHub install may be only Windows friendly). So, before I buy the RAMPS setup, and scrap most of my time, can anyone think of something that I may have done wrong or anything else I should try? I've made sure all the SAM-BA drivers were installed and the latest versions of the Arduino and XYZ software were up to date. Tried uploading the sketch from Virtualbox on the Mac, Straight from the Mac and from a Windows 10 machine without any luck.

and obviously the Arduino software.
This isn't my area of expertise, so I'm at a loss to figure out my next step. Any thoughts would be appreciated - as of right now, I have a small, expensive cabinet.

black bar are usualy due to variant.cpp not correct, so be sure you replaced the arduino one by the one provided in github

That was it, exactly!
Windows 10 didn't like the replace folder so I manually moved each file - except variant.cpp. Jumped on a Win7 machine for a clean start and it worked without issue.
Thank you so much for the help!
