z probe issues
I'm hoping someone can give me a silver bullet to end my z-probe woes. I have a davinci 1.0A flashed with 0.92 firmware. I'm using the latest repetier software, and I have had many problems with bed leveling. This is preventing me from getting any usable prints. Yes I've tried manual bed leveling, but it just does not seem to be working correctly.

Originally I was able to get the z-probe to work, and it probed all three points. I can't remember, but it seemed like it moved the bed down 5 mm then probed to get a measurement.

Since I leveled the bed, and got the nozzle a folded piece of paper away from the bed, I cannot get the z-probe to work. It will probe at the correct place. It lowers the bed 10 mm, and right when the tip is in contact with the metal tab it fails at probe 1. No reason for failure just fails.

If I put tin foil on the tab, or use the brass brush to make contact during the probe it works fine.

My theory is that the Max z-probe bed distance is 10 mm, and the bed lowers 10 mm to do the probe. It is reaching the 10 mm limit just before contacting the head. I've tried modifying this value in the firmware, but it does not have any affect.
