Repetier .91 Vs .92
#1
I'm on the verge of making the switch to Repetier firmware after 6 months or so on stock, mainly so I don't need to use a resetter to change temps.
I'm wondering what the main differences are and which version is most stable ?
Also, is it possible to flash either version with the easy method using an old version of xyzware ?

I do not maintain the 0.91 based anymore, I try to follow all new features of repetier on 0.92, which is currently 0.92.3 - and will be (I hope) ready next week.
0.92 has several improvements compare to 0.91, and some big ones are the Watchdog, better LCD support, better thermistor tables, support of 1.0A/2.0A, several bug fixes, new features of repetier, etc...
Even 0.92 is described as in alpha stage it is now more in good beta = same stage as repetier itself, as Davinci specificities are now fully stable, the comming changes are from repetier itself, and also will work on on wifi support (https://github.com/luc-github/ just after latest import is done, which looks very promising.

0.91 is available on binary form, when 0.92 is still on sources only, because now have several models, and I was pretty busy recently so no time to generate 5 binaries and now I am little bit busy with 0.92.3 import.

Compile from sources is really easy and Jake did a good manual for the 0.92 (https://forum.voltivo.com/showthread.php?tid=8333

Thanks for that Luc. Wink
Was hoping to not have to open up the back panel again to short the jumpers but if it means having a more up to date firmware, it wil be worth it.
Can you expand some more on the Watchdog feature, not sure what that is.

watchdog is a safety feature, if for any reason, printer is out of control, then there is an autoreset of the printer, so printer will never heat without strict control
