Slic3r Settings

Finally put repetier on my da vinci and setup octopi... did my first print and I get one nice flat purge line, then the print head goes into turbo speed for the brim, which results in a thin (and sometimes dashed) line of plastic.

So my question is... what kind of Slic3r settings are people using with ABS? Looking for a good baseline to start from and save me a little time (and plastic).

I've got KISSlicer too, but haven't tried it yet.

Here are the settings I'm using in slic3r right now. I'm getting pretty good prints, except the top and bottom surfaces have gaps in them (see pics)... and the first layer isn't quite as squished as I'd like. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, what do I need to change to move the clean/purge line closer to the edge of the bed?

Is this thing on? LOL... really feel like I'm talking to myself on here... guess I'll see what other user forums are out there. I can't be the only person trying to use repetier/slic3r on my da vinci 1.0 with abs....

Hi,
I don't remember exactly where I found all the settings. Anyway, I've tweaked them a bit and the below works on my printer with a zapped cartridge and 3rd party filament.

I'm using 1.1.29.42 and 1.1.E, then the printer doesn't count filament. I've printed one extra spool and the "cartridge" still says 240m left :-)

I found slicers support when making models with overhang wasnt great, so i switched to kisslicer. YMMV, but so far i haven't looked back. (I'm thinking about trying cura again, but it's only out of boredom. )

BTW, There were things like emmetts locking heart box i just never got to print with slicer, first time with kisslicer and it worked. For whatever that is worth.

And I'm using a 0.04mm feeler gauge for bed calibration instead of paper
