Proper temperatures
Most ABS providers say ideal temperatures are in the 230-260 degree range, but the da vinci seems to dial in for 212. Why is this? Would I get better prints by upping the temperature?
Have you measured the actual temperature? It's common for it to be significantly off.
(You might be calling for 212 but running at 220, etc )

I haven't measured the actual temperature, I'm more just curious why the Da Vinci aims for 212, out of the box.

Actually, looking my currently running build, some of the layers are separating, which I believe is a result of the extruder not being hot enough, or maybe the print bed being out of alignment. Though I haven't been at this long enough to really diagnose these things.
