Y-Axis Shift

Hello,

I just installed repetier on my davinci xyz. I love the program, however, when my print reaches a certain height, the y axis seems to randomly shift over about 3mm.

Basically my prints shift over to the left and or the right, and continue printing in this new position.

Then I cancel it.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Sorry for the delay in answering. Can you watch the z axis carrier and glass when this happens? I suspect one of them is shifting.

Y axis is front to back, x is left to right. Most threads talk about x axis shift being caused by the x axis motor wires rubbing on the right side of the enclosure.

I am actually experiencing the x axis shift and y axis shift. Intermittent but becoming more often. Sometimes only Y, other times both X & Y. It happens with repetier/repetier host and with xyz stock firmware G and S3D or xyz 1.1.29. So definitely hardware issue.

I know this is an old thread but if anyone happens by drawn by the thread name I would certainly value any opinions or actual experience with y axis shift.

Slow your print speed. If the problem goes away 100% then the steppers are starting to fail. If the problem continues then the wires are breaking - replace them all instead of messing around with 1 or 2 just to do the others again later.
