did you make sure to replace the variants file in the ardruino IDE?
Thank you, it worked. It's still not communicating with Repetier-Host, though.
Shut off the printer and let it sit a few seconds and turn it back on, it will be on a new comport and repetier should connect after you refresh the ports.
This is my configuration, The Baudrate on the printer matches that in the configuration.
A quick note for those having issues... Make sure you reload either the Factory version of the XYZware or the Oldest version in the repository. I used the 22.214.171.124 version. I could not do the Firmware change to the custom version with the .28 version I had installed.
Hey, today i ventured to give this a shot, and I'm stuck at the same point as james is. I'm unfamiliar with the Arduino IDE. I'm unsure on how to replace the variant file? I'm pretty sure thats my problem.
Thanks for anyone who can help,
I attempted to flash new firmware -- unsuccessful
DaVinci 1.0 with 2nd gen board (no reset jumper -- but jumper pad there)
Reset by shorting out pins on reset pad.
Printer -- nothing with black bars on LCD
Phil's brilliant software DA VINCI 1.0 - FIRMWARE DOWNGRADE TOOL
In Arduino IDE 106
correct com selected (Com 5 bossac )
correct board selected
load G version of Firmware
Error avrdude nosync
Tried from two different computers
First generation DaVinci 1.0
Jumper on controller board
was running XYZ version J firmware
Flashed to repetier firmware
using -- repetier=0.91-alpha-davinci10.bin
LCD display NOT right (random characters)
Repitier-Host 106 seems to control it OK
What can I do to get LCD to display correctly
Try to turn the printer off for a few (or 10) seconds and turn it on again. I have the same problem. It works something like one out of three times I turn it on. However once it is turned on correctly it stays like that until I power it off. Also it seems like it is better once the printer is warm (no statistics, just my gut feeling).
I'm new to this forum. I've a similar LCD issue. I've flashed 3d printer with both the the repetier 0.92 and what I think is the default FW1.0.1 J37 board firmware to try to get my printer to work.
Unfortunately, after getting my printer it seems that one of the platform bed wires came loose in shipping and the unit faulted on a code 0010 and immediately became bricked after restarting per the LCD instructions. I reflashed the unit following forum steps for both the repeteir 0.92 and FW1.0.1 bin post. My 3d printer connects to both xyz ware and repeteir host, however, my lcd screen is just blank (meaning no brick, just blank). If I flash the repeteir host it seems to stay in a brick mode.
Anyone got any tips on how to restore the lcd in either the FW_1.0.1.bin file or repetier so that the text can be read? Is their some other jumper for the LCD to reset to read text?
I can connect and send a sliced file to the printer (lcd lights, internal lights come on, and motors appear to go through some sort of quick check)... then nothing... Any ideas to solve are appreciated.
I have exactly the same problem like "Cozmicray".
The flashing and uploading of the repertier-firmware 0.91 seems to work.
But printer displays shows only random characters.
Did anybody find a reason for this?
Is there any solution????
Please help !
